Golf is a sport that does not take too much strenuous activity. It is not required of the golfer to be able to bench press 225 pounds at least twenty times or a minimum requirement of a 5.0 time in the 40 yard dash. Golf is a sport for people for all ages. People in their mid thirties can play, as evidenced by the mastery of the world’s best and highest ranked golfer, Tiger Woods. People that are ages do not have to shy away from the game due to their elevated age. There are still many golfers of age competing professionally, as evidenced by Tom Watson, the British golfer that is approaching seventy. Therefore, if one follows a simple buy yet strict regiment for playing the game of golf, they should be fine and be good to go when the game commences. Many people do not stretch and exercise properly before playing golf. Here are a few easy indoor or outdoor stretches that one can do to knock off those dreaded strokes.

First off, it is pertinent that one should claim a comfortable spot to lie down, and then they must proceed to lift both their legs in the air. Then after this first step has been accomplished one must make an L shape with their legs from their buttocks to their feet. This is the step where one can see small signs of progress. Then one should let one leg rest on the other for 30 seconds or longer. Then after this one should switch over and do the same for the other leg. This will really build up the muscles in the legs. This is an exercise that can be done indoor before a group of people make their way to a golf course. This is not an exercise that should be or is traditionally done in public at a golf course or anywhere because it is not proper golf etiquette. As one can see, this is why this exercise has been designated for indoor purposes away from any kind of public sector. Likewise, there has also been an outdoor exercise that has been designated for the golfer to perform on the golf course and in public with a group of people.

In the outdoor practice exercise, one will just need a golf club and their body. The first step is to, once on the golf course; take a few practice swings with an old golf club. Then after a few practice swings, one should take one hand off the club and make their full swing. The golfer should do this a couple of times. This will really help build up one specific arm. The purpose is to get the body acclimated to plating golf. After this, the golfer should do this with the opposite hand. If one is right handed, they should start with that dominant hand then shift over to the left. For the left hander, vice versa applies. These are both exercises that can get the golfer ready for battle physically and mentally.

So when your are indoors, practice striking the ball. This will make your game in the golf course more accurate and solid.

FOCUS ON THE BALL

One of the most important exercises that you need to do is to focus your eyes on the ball as you hit it. Most of the time, when a player hits the ball, surely he will see where it is going. But you have to remember that you need to keep your head low after hitting the ball. The direction of the ball will be the same whether you will look at it or not so you have to focus on how you will strike it and not on where it is going. Stand at least 6 feet away from the wall and hit the ball. Look down until the ball touches the wall. This is a good exercise.

DISTANCE CONTROL

In golf, you aim the ball to reach the hole as early as possible. Thus it is very important that you can effectively control the distance that the ball will reach as you hit it. One exercise that you can do is to stand at least 15 feet away from the target. Hit the ball and aim to reach the target. Do this repeatedly to improve your control over distance.

BE PERSISTENT

One of the most important things that you need to learn is on how to be persistent to reach your goals or aims. Always develop the perseverance, drive and encouragement that you need for the game. Always be persistent in everything that you do so that you will be able to reach greater heights in the game.

How Do I Correct a Reverse Pivot in My Golf Swing?

If you are asking this question, then you are probably pulling your ball to the left when you swing or putt. This is a serious problem, especially for that last swing of the course. If there really is a reverse pivot, then you need to practice hitting in a straight line. There are a few ways you can achieve this. One way might be aiming at a specific target, like a tee, or a rock. Of course you may not have the money to blow on a trip to the local Putt Putt, so a homemade remedy might have to do.

So what can you do? Well, there are a number of things you can do. You might buy an indoor putting range, which doesn’t cost too much. Or you could do something more rudimentary, like placing a set of 2×4′s on the ground, about two feet away from each other, and trying to putt the ball down the middle exactly. Something else you could do, if you can’t find a set of 2×4′s and can’t afford to buy an indoor putting range (which runs around $32), is to take a set of golf tee’s, and arrange them in two columns, so you can hit the ball between them. If you’re feeling really adventurous, you could take a short piece of thin PVC tubing, and try to aim the ball toward it, so that it goes through it, that would work wonders for your swing if you can manage to hit it!

There are many, many things you can use for this, cups, hamster tubes, paper towel rolls, but no matter what you do the important thing is to practice as much as possible. Eventually, with time and practice, your reverse pivot will disappear and you’ll be swinging with the pros before you know it. But no matter how good you get remember this well: overconfidence will kill your swing; make absolutely certain each and every time that you’re doing it right, and don’t assume that you can do it every time. In other words, treat every time like the first time, using precision and careful planning to ensure that you play your best game.
